The Early Years Movement is powered by a multidisciplinary team with deep expertise in education, inclusion, workforce development, social impact, and care. Our aim is to place more men in Early Years Careers to dismantle harmful tropes such as caring is a role held only by women and girls.
We’re united by the belief that representation matters in the earliest years of life, because children learn not only through what they’re told, but through what and who they see around them every day.
Our mission isn’t about changing the balance of men and women in education to favour one over the other. It’s about ensuring children grow up understanding that care is not a gendered role. By placing more men into early years education and care, we help children develop a real, lived sense that being caring, nurturing, and supportive is not limited by gender.
We want boys to know they can grow up to be carers, educators, and role models, and for girls to see that men can, and do, occupy these roles with compassion and skill. By supporting male early years practitioners and creating welcoming, inclusive environments, we work to dismantle harmful stereotypes and expand what’s possible for every child.
At its heart, the Early Years Movement is about change that begins with people, the adults who show up every day for children, modelling the values of empathy, respect, and shared responsibility that we want our society to hold dear.
